Kathmandu. WRPF Nepal has successfully concluded the ‘Himalayan Pro 2026 National Powerlifting Championship.’ This competition stands as a historic achievement for the powerlifting sector in Nepal. In this championship, which brought together athletes from across the country on a single platform, the participants demonstrated exceptional strength, determination, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Making history at the inaugural Himalayan Pro, Dr. Rajib Shrestha and Jharna Yonjan won the titles of the first male and female ‘Champion of Champions,’ respectively, at the WRPF Nepal Himalayan Pro 2026.
Athletes who delivered outstanding performances in the Masters and Junior divisions were also honored as overall winners at the championship.

A New Chapter in Nepal’s Powerlifting
The competition was organized by the dedicated team of WRPF Nepal under the leadership of Rasana Pradhan, President of WRPF Nepal and organizer of Himalayan Pro 2026. According to the organizers, Himalayan Pro was launched with the aim of creating a professional, well-organized, and national-level competitive platform for powerlifting athletes in Nepal.
The successful hosting of the championship marks a significant step towards the development, professionalization, and expansion of powerlifting in Nepal. WRPF Nepal believes that this will create further opportunities and recognition for Nepali powerlifters.
