KATHMANDU: One day Flytech Women’s Futsal Tournament 2018 is going to be held with the motive of empowering women through sports and bringing women leaders and aspiring women leaders of different organizations and institutions together.
This is the first women’s tournament where young girls and women from diverse background come together to compete against each other through sports. The event is supported by Flytech International and Redbull and organized by Youth Legend. This event is scheduled on March 31st, 2018, Saturday in Samakhusi Futsal. The event will kick off at 10:00 am.
The tournament will commence from group stage and progress to Quarter Finals, Semifinals, and Final. The winners and runners-up will get trophies and medals, while the best player and highest goal scorer will be awarded trophy.
Most of the women players are playing for the first time and believe that this is a major step in their life as they challenge themselves to be the part of a futsal tournament which is usually known as men’s sport. There is good evidence that participation in sports can help break-down gender stereotypes, improves self-esteem, defy the misperception that they are weak or incapable and contribute to the development of leadership skills. Every time they clear a hurdle or kick a ball, demonstrating not only physical strength, but also leadership and strategic thinking, they take a step towards gender equality.
The winners and runners-up will get trophies and medals, while the best player and highest goal scorer will also receive trophy.
Flytech International, Nepal’s No.1 Airhostess Training Academy joined hand with Youth Legend to make this event success. Youth Legend is a social enterprise established in May 2014 with the purpose of creating valuable impact in the lives of young people around the world works on 3 core areas – International Exchange, Youth Empowerment and Psychosocial wellbeing.
