Arijit Singh announced his retirement from playback singing by sharing a post on Instagram. He said, “Hello, Happy New Year to all of you. Thank you for giving me so much love as a listener over the years.” I am happy to announce that from now on, I will not be taking up any new work as a playback singer. I am saying goodbye to this profession. It has been an amazing journey.

He said, “God has been very kind to me. I am a fan of good music and in the future, I will learn a lot as a small artist and do a lot of work myself. Thank you again for your support.” I want to make it clear that I will not stop making music.’ Arijit has clarified that he has only retired from playback singing but will continue to make music.
